Autodesk Forma

DesignEngineeringCOTS

Availability by environment

Planned — target environments to be confirmed.

What it does

AI-assisted spatial and platform modelling. Used in the engineering domain for environment modelling, platform fly-throughs, and capability visualisation in spatial context.

Where Luma generates from natural-language description and Napkin works at the diagram level, Forma works at the structured-spatial level — useful when the team needs to reason about physical placement, dimensions, and interactions in space.

When to use it

  • Design phase for engineering teams
  • Spatial capability development — when physical context, placement, or scale is part of the capability
  • Cross-platform integration — when modelling how one capability interacts with others in physical space

How to access

Output expectations

  • Models are conceptual unless validated against engineering specifications
  • Pair outputs with a capability specification produced by the capability-spec generator so the model is anchored to measurable requirements
